Procedures:
Through our gracious private donors, we have 48 Athlete seats on the bus this year. We aren’t limited to just 48 athletes though. Some athletes will chose other methods of travel but they’re responsible for that cost in its entirety. We are requiring athletes to pay a $25 non-refundable Reservation Fee to secure his/her seat if selected. We will post the athlete list no later than June 1st 2019.
Athletes traveling into Albuquerque,New Mexico through any method other than the team bus, must provide any member of the selection committee his/her travel accommodations.
Learning from past experiences, we depart a few days early for a few reasons. One being the altitude… It takes a few days to get accustomed to the elevation in Albuquerque. The second reason, bonding socially as well as athletically. The athletes and coaches must have time to learn each other because of different backgrounds and coaching techniques. Your athlete(s) have done all of the hard work, we’re simply managing them. Making sure they warm up properly, give pointers, keep them hydrated, provide connections with collegiate coaches, and provide adult supervision as most teenagers need.
Athletes aren’t required to stay the entire stay, as we leave on June 4th from Belleville West High School in Belleville, Illinois @ 6pm. Athletes coming from the Chicago Area, will have to catch the train or bus to St. Louis and there will be transportation provided to Belleville West High School. We will arrive back to Belleville West on June 9th at or around 12 midnight. Athletes from the Chicago area or that traveled in on train or bus, will be transported to the travel station for his/her return destination.
Athletes will share a room with 3 other Illinois/Missouri athletes unless there is an odd number of athletes. In this situation, those athletes would then be room with the extra athletes from Illinois/Missouri. Athletes wishing to stay by themselves, are responsible for entire cost of hotel fee.
Last year, Lunch and Dinner was provided for the athletes but we will announce if that will continue in 2019. Most athletes have their own palette and will usually order their own food.
Athletes will receive their very own Team Illinois/Missouri uniform and T-shirt at check-in. He/she would also need to bring at least four(4) additional workout outfits to wear for practice.
Parents/Chaperones:
Parents, Coaches, and/or Chaperones are welcome and encouraged to attend. Aside from the beautiful scenery, this is one of the best high school meets in the country! Accommodations(lodging/travel) are solely the responsibility of the parent/Chaperone.
